Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Well, ol' man winter is on his way back, and that means the weather she be a-changin'. The weather has been updated across all WRCP servers to remove rain (except in the most severe cases of weather) for the duration of winter. This has an immediate effect in that wetness modifiers can only be applied due to activities like swimming, wading, and the like, as well as storing items in barrels or pots full of water. There is still the (very extremely) slim possibility of rain, but this would be so unlikely as to be virtually impossible. If it were to happen even once between now and March, it would be a miracle (somewhere in the neighbourhood of 1:100,000,000,000 based on the variable calculations).

There is a downside, however: the minimum and maximum temperatures will now begin to drop fairly dramatically through January, and then begin to warm back up next year. Warm clothes in good repair will be a necessity, and so the amount of Pea coats, Hunter jackets and pants, and Fire Fighter clothes will be increased alongside the total available repair items (duct tape, sewing kits) to assist with this. It may further be advisable to carry torches soaked with gasoline or fat to provide warmth, especially during the nights when the temperature can be expected to reach as low as -15 degrees Celsius (January). Wringing out clothing items after any activities involving water is strongly recommended, as not doing so will lead to rapid negative health effects.

The last things to note about the weather changes are the fog and the wind. Fog will get very thick at times, and will cycle between "pea soup" fog and no fog at all throughout the day. This will decrease visibility to as low as 70 meters at times, so be aware of sound rather than relying simply on visual cues. As well, wind speeds up to 35 meters/second (~125 Km/hour or ~80 Miles/hour) can be reached, which can cause a great deal of secondary noises and chilling effect as well.
